On 26 November 2022, Witty Writers’ World hosted the third edition of Writers Converge at Alliance Française, Ibadan.
Writers Converge is W3’s annual creative gathering that brings young writers together to learn and grow. Each edition creates room for conversations that encourage participants to develop their talents and approach their creative journeys with greater confidence.
The theme for the 2022 edition, “Talented to Stand Out,” challenged participants to think beyond having talent and to consider how excellence, growth, and consistency help creative people distinguish themselves.
The event welcomed students from senior secondary schools across Ibadan, alongside young creatives from different parts of Nigeria, and featured discussions around the event theme, an inter-school symposium, spontaneous poetry and public speaking challenges, poem recitations, spoken word performances, and moments of music, comedy, and dance that added to the atmosphere of the day.
We were also honored to host Edmund Obilo, Director of Research at Bilficom Media and Systems, and Ebika Anthony, President of Poetry Enclave Ibadan, who shared their experiences and encouraged participants to keep developing their gifts.
