After two weeks of exciting rounds and impressive displays of creativity, Poetry League 1.0 has officially come to an end.
Launched as a writing challenge for poets writing in English and Nigerian Pidgin, the competition brought together 28 participants who were eager to test their creativity and learn from one another. Participants were grouped into eight teams (A–H) and progressed through a series of face-offs that challenged both their imagination and writing ability.
As the rounds progressed, the participants showed a strong passion for poetry and a willingness to learn. It was also interesting to see how they approached the different stages in their own ways. Four participants reached the final stage to compete for the prizes.
At the end of the competition, Ohans Praise emerged as the winner. Lekan Wahab finished as the first runner-up, while Chinaza Ironua came in as the second runner-up.
We appreciate everyone who took part in Poetry League 1.0. The competition was not only about winning. It also gave participants the chance to write more, try new approaches, and learn from the process.
